Concern for Community is the heart of the Register Round Up program! Co-op members and shoppers have the opportunity every time they shop to round up their total at the register to the nearest dollar; each month, these funds are donated to a local non-profit. Since the program’s inception in 2013, Co-op members and shoppers have donated over $110,000 to support the work of dozens of area non-profits! By harnessing the collective power of our individual contributions, the Register Round Up program enables each of us to play our part in our Co-op’s mission to enhance physical and social health in our community.

This year’s recipients were carefully selected by a committee composed of Front End and Marketing & Member Services staff who collaborated to review each application carefully and to democratically determine the finalists. Criteria evaluated for selection included how effectively funds will be used to serve communities surrounding our Co-op and how well the organization’s mission aligns with our Co-op’s Ends Policy. As the longevity of the program increases, so do the number of applications. We take heart knowing there are so many groups working to better the quality of life in our city, and we wish there were more months in a year so we could support all the wonderful organizations that submitted applications. This year, money raised through the Register Round Up will support a wide variety of causes including education, health and wellness, food access, economic development, animal welfare, sustainability and the environment.
