STORE
Grocery Manager
Full-time position will help introduce category management into our purchasing and merchandising strategies. This Management Team member will supervise a staff of about 15. A successful applicant must be passionate about the work, familiar with the product lines; well versed in purchasing and merchandising and a people person.
The ideal candidate will possess the following: At least 3 years of purchasing and merchandising for a department in a natural food store; Several innovative ideas for merchandising at the co-op; Demonstrated ability to provide a strategic approach to managing the business; Demonstrated ability to purchase and merchandise product creatively; Supervisory experience: hiring, training, evaluating, giving feedback and directions in keeping with policies and procedures; Ability to maintain confidences; Ability to work as a positive team member; Ability to read financial statements, (a firm grasp of margin and pricing); Ability to project outgoing, friendly personality; Ability to model exceptional customer service; experience serving the public; Ability to handle multiple demands; Experienced computer user; particularly Excel, Word, and POS system software; Organized, consistently follows through on commitments; Familiarity with natural foods lines; knowledge of current trends in natural foods industry; Communications skills–ability to provide respectful, clear directions, good listener; Regular, predictable attendance; Willingness and ability to meet the changing requirements of the position. A good sense of humor is also always welcome!
Stocker
Receive and stock in accord with best practices and in synch with POS shelf tags; help with inventory; provide excellent customer service; assist with deliveries, special orders and various maintenance tasks. Safe lifting practices a must; ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
16 hours +/week; 3-5 days a week; must be able to work nights and weekends; ability to work well independently; self-motivated.
HBC Clerk
Support for Supplements and Health & Beauty Care buyers; ensure full customer service, quality product display and product availability. Good working knowledge of supplements and ability to respond to basic customer product questions, commitment to learning and excellent customer service a must. Some ordering experience a real plus.
3 – 5 shifts / week – evenings and weekends. Position will be 20 – 40 hours per week.
FRONT END
Cashier
Check out customer purchases in a prompt, friendly and accurate manner. Assist customers generally and provide excellent customer services. Work cooperatively with other departments and staff. Must be detail-oriented, good with numbers and be customer service-focused. Enjoying other people and having an ability to maintain one’s calm in frustrating situations is pivotal to being successful in this job.
CAFÉ / DELI
Cheese Buyer
Experienced food (cheese) service professional wanted; progressive retail and systems oriented, teamwork approach; open minded. A successful candidate will have experience as a buyer and the ability to form and maintain a good rapport with vendors. The applicant must be organized, team-oriented, and passionate about cheese! Overall Responsibilities include a firm grasp of margin pricing, familiarity with category management and experience supervising others, including training, directing, and evaluating performance. Able to oversee and maintain safe, sanitary conditions in keeping with government regulations and standards.
Barista
The EEFC is seeking a Part Time Barista/Counter Staff. Commitment to quality and excellent customer services a must. Flexible hours required. Multi-tasker, salad bar prep, coffee/smoothie bar, barista experience a plus.
This position and will require evening/weekend shifts.
PT hours available — flexibility is key —- possibility of FT, in time.
Dishwasher/Prep Cook
EEFC is looking for a Part Time dishwasher/prep cook–Some light counter / prep work; general clean-up. Maintaining the food and the appearance of the steamtable/hotbar.
This position may require evening/weekend shifts. PT hours available— flexibility is key.
Cook
EEFC is looking for a Part Time cook. Emphasis on vegetarian & natural foods, consistency and accurate costing. Maintaining the food and the appearance of the steamtable/hotbar. Follow and create recipes, accurate signage especially concerning allergies and dietary concerns. Baking and/or Barista experience a plus! Teamwork and use of checklists pivotal. Being a serious multi-tasker, being flexible and self-motivated are essential characteristics that we are looking for. This position may require evening/weekend shifts. PT hours available with Full-Time possibilities— flexibility is key. We offer great benefits.
The Café is always interested in talking with applicants who have strong Barista experience and/or strong vegetarian cooking and general kitchen skills.
