GM Search Update

A General Manager Search Committee has been formed to facilitate the process of hiring a new GM for the East End Food Co-op. This committee is meeting weekly, chaired by board member Arianna Garofalo and including board members Patrick McHale, Eddy Jones and Brynn Yochim, along with Human Resources Manager Jen Girty.

The General Manager position has been posted internally and on several external job boards. The committee has begun receiving applications, and hopes to begin the interviewing candidates in February 2018.

Several upcoming events will provide opportunities for members and staff to have a say in the hiring of a new general manager:

    I am unable to attend the Member Forum on December the 2nd since I’ll be in Philadelphia for a Health Care 4 All PA’s 4th quarter Strategy Retreat and Board Meetings, but am very invested in the Coop’s future and opportunity to model for Pittsburgh and the region alternative models of management. I hope there will be serious consideration of proposals for alternatives to a hierarchical structure.
