Ingredients
- 5-6 inch lbs. medium apples peeled, cored, and sliced thick
- 2-3 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon Allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon fine salt
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup uncooked oats
- 1/3 cup all-purpose or gluten free flour
- 1/2 stick of cold unsalted butter cut into small pieces, plus extra for coating the dish
Instructions

Heat the oven to 375°F.

Coat an 8-by-8-inch baking dish with butter.

Mix the apples, sugar, cinnamon, and 1/8 teaspoon of the salt in a large bowl and toss to coat.

Put the apple mixture in the baking dish and set aside.

Mix together the brown sugar, oats, flour, and remaining 1/8 teaspoon salt.

With a fork, blend in the butter pieces until small clumps form and the butter is well incorporated.
