- 28 oz. tomato puree
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp. agave syrup
- 2 tbsp. molasses
- 1 tbsp. vegan Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp. liquid aminos
- 4 garlic cloves smashed
- 1 tbsp. hickory salt
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- ½ cup water
- 1 can of jackfruit or 1 small fresh jackfruit
Combine all sauce ingredients in medium saucepan with a whisk. Simmer sauce on low heat until flavors are well combined, about 20 minutes. Remove from stove and let cool.
Drain the jackfruit and rise well.
Use a fork to shred pieces of the jackfruit and place in barbecue sauce ingredients
Let jackfruit marinate in barbecue sauce for 20-30 minutes
Pour into a skillet and heat for 5-7 minutes until warm.
Enjoy over rice, in a wrap, or on a sandwich.
