Grow Pittsburgh is an urban agriculture organization whose mission is to teach people how to grow food and promote the benefits gardens bring to our neighborhoods. They grow food and seedlings at three urban farm production sites, which also serve as educational hubs and work sites for youth and young adult workforce development programs. Their school garden programs integrate gardening and cooking activities into classroom curriculum in over 30 schools throughout Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. Round Up funds will support their efforts to build and support community gardens with supplies, infrastructure, and technical assistance. If you’d like to contribute to the mission of Grow Pittsburgh, be sure to tell your Co-op cashier to round up your total throughout the month of May.
