Meat sold at the East End Food Co-op is sourced primarily from local, independent, family-operated farms. We take the time to build relationships with our farmers and are familiar with their practices.

Humanely-raised animals and organic standards make a difference in both quality and ecological impact. Many of our farmers use crop and animal rotation and practice “nose-to-tail” butchering, a more sustainable method that utilizes every part of the animal.

We prioritize products that are local, organic, certified naturally-grown, cage-free, grass-fed and grass-finished, and that are free of antibiotics, hormones, and steroids.
