A short grain variety that has a mildly sweet flavor, which is slightly stronger than other rice varieties. It has a sticky texture that makes it perfect for use in many Asian recipes, as well as desserts such as rice pudding.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of rice
- 2 cups of water
- 1 tbsp. of butter
Instructions

Combine 2 cups water with 1 cup rice and 1 tbsp butter (optional) in a pot with a tight fitting lid.

Bring to a boil. Stir once. Cover lid. Reduce heat to simmer and cook 50 minutes.

Remove from heat without lifting lid. Let stan d in covered pot for 10 minutes. Fluff with fork and salt to taste (optional).

To prepare in rice cooker use same water to rice ratio.
