Jeremiah’s Place works to protect children and strengthen families by providing a safe haven of respite, health, renewal, and support during times of crisis. As Western PA’s only emergency childcare facility, Jeremiah’s Place serves families who are experiencing medical or mental health emergencies, and helps families experiencing homelessness get back on their feet by providing childcare while parents are looking for housing, going on job interviews, or starting job training. Jeremiah’s Place serves over 50 different children every month, and provides each one with a hand-knit teddy bear called a “Jere Bear”. If you’d like to contribute to the mission of Jeremiah’s Place, be sure to tell your Co-op cashier to round up your total throughout the month of July.
