Ingredients

  • 1 cup of rice
  • 1 1/2 cups of water
  • 1 tbsp. of butter

Instructions

  1. Combine 1½ cups water with 1 cup rice and 1 tbsp. butter (optional) in a pot with a tight fitting lid.
  2. Bring to a boil. Stir once.
  3. Cover with lid. Reduce heat to simmer and cook 20 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat without lifting lid; let stand in covered pot for 10 minutes. Fluff with fork; salt to taste (optional).
  5. (To prepare in rice cooker, use same water-rice ratios).
